About the role

As a Data Engineer, within Finance Systems, Data and Innovation, you will design, build, test and support applications and/or underlying infrastructure. You will work closely with squad members to ensure outcomes meet customer expectations, and build capability in your squad. You will bring knowledge or deep expertise on a specific topic supporting FSDI capabilities in Data, BI and/or Automation.

A key element of this role is driving the engineering agenda, ensuring delivery of best practice end-to-end engineering respecting ANZ architecture standards. You will challenge inefficient engineering/solution development practice in ANZ and influence change in your field to drive better business outcomes.

In the role you will implement smart and relevant engineering/solution development to drive E2E application delivery and support while linking in to the wider FSDI roadmap supporting data, analytics and automation.

What will your day look like
Design and build solutions that meet user/customer needs
Ability to build and maintain inclusive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influence/negotiate change
Make sound and timely decisions and re-prioritising work in response to customer needs
Ability to challenge yourself and the business on the value that will be delivered to customers
Work in collaborative and inclusive teams to build innovative solutions and helps to guide and support less experienced team members in the Tribe
Proactive in learning and taking on additional tasks & analysis to assist in the achievement of team goals
Design and deliver solution on a variety of technologies that meet user needs
Strong understanding of the underlying technologies and the skill to build sustainable engineering/solution development disciplines within your team
Understanding of solution development lifecycles and relevant delivery controls
Identify, monitor and manage risks, issues and dependencies, agreeing appropriate risk responses
What will you bring?

Hands on experience with Cloud Platforms – GCP (preferred)
Prior experience in designing and building data pipelines from data ingestion to consumption within a hybrid big data architecture, using Cloud Native products, DBT, Apache Airflow, SQL etc.
Have worked in data warehousing Project and ETL tool.
Strong Experience in programming languages such as Python.
Ability to optimise data flows by building robust, fault-tolerant data pipeline that cleans, transforms, and aggregates data into databases or data sources.
Data management (data mapping, modelling)
